Why you have SOL trapped in your wallet
Solana requires every token account to hold a refundable rent deposit. Each time you buy or receive a new token, your wallet opens a token account and locks up to ~0.002 SOL inside it.
When you sell or send all of that token, the account stays open and the SOL stays locked. Active traders often have hundreds of these empty accounts. Closing them returns the deposit to you. It’s your own SOL, but for most people it feels like found money.
- Buy a token: an account opens and locks ~0.002 SOL
- Sell it all: the account stays open, the SOL stays locked
- Claim it: the account closes and the SOL comes back to you
Estimated SOL you can claim

Estimate assumes accounts opened before September 2026 (0.00203928 SOL each, minus the 0.5% fee). Accounts opened after Solana’s 2026 rent reduction hold less. Your scan shows the exact amount.

Claim your SOL: frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you reclaim SOL from your token accounts.
What does “claim your SOL” actually mean?
Solana locks a small rent deposit (up to ~0.002 SOL) in every token account your wallet opens. When an account is empty, you can close it and get that deposit back. Claiming your SOL simply means closing those empty accounts and returning the SOL to your wallet.
Is this really free SOL?
It’s SOL that already belongs to you. You paid it as a deposit when the token account was created. Most people never knew it was there, so getting it back feels like free SOL. The scan is free; we only take 0.5% of what you actually claim.
How much SOL can I claim?
Each empty token account holds up to ~0.002 SOL. Accounts opened before September 2026 hold 0.00203928 SOL; newer ones hold less after Solana’s 2026 rent reduction. 100 empty accounts is roughly 0.2 SOL. Your scan shows the exact amount before you sign anything.
Is it safe to connect my wallet?
Connecting only shares your public address. Nothing can move without your approval, and every transaction is built in your browser and simulated by your wallet before you sign. We never ask for your seed phrase, and no one legitimate ever will.
Will closing accounts delete my tokens or NFTs?
No. Only accounts with a zero balance can be closed. Accounts holding any amount of a token or an NFT are never included. If you receive a closed token again later, your wallet simply opens a new account.
Why can’t some of my empty accounts be closed?
Some accounts are frozen by the token issuer, and some Token-2022 accounts have a close authority that isn’t you. We detect these automatically and skip them so your transaction never fails.
Do you support Token-2022 accounts?
Yes. We scan both the original SPL Token program and Token-2022, so newer tokens are included in your total. Token-2022 accounts are labelled in your results.
Can I check a wallet without connecting it?
Yes. Paste any Solana address to see how much SOL is trapped in it. To actually claim, you need to connect the same wallet and approve the transaction.
What are the fees?
A flat 0.5% of the SOL you reclaim, plus Solana’s normal network fee (a tiny fraction of a cent per transaction). If you reclaim 1 SOL, you keep 0.995 SOL.
